7 years!

I can’t believe we’ve been married 7 years. I don’t know what the last 7 years would be like without Katie by my side. I don’t even want to think about it. 

We took a quick 24 hour getaway down to the tiny mountain town of Medicine Park to celebrate. We spent many weekends camping and climbing in the Wichita Mountains back in college so it was great to revisit those familiar trails. We had a nice dinner and watched the sunset from the peak of Mt. Scott. We tried to order wine at a winery, but they rather rudely told us they weren’t serving wine; only beer. We were puzzled. We later found out their wine was really bad and they were forced to quit serving it. In Oklahoma…really?

The next morning we had a nice breakfast with our hosts Clark and Peggy of the Stardust Inn and made the 30 minute hike out to the Narrows. It’s a beautiful little canyon with a babbling stream. The stream was low but we managed to find some shade near the water. I fished for a couple hours and brought close to 20 fish to hand. 

Oh, and of course we had to have a Meers burger on the way home!
